Posted on: Monday 28 Nov 2016
We take great pleasure to congratulate Kyle GRAFF of Year 8 for being selected as one of the ten Hong Kong Island Outstanding Students in Junior Secondary Section this year. He received a trophy, a certificate and $800 book coupons in the prize-giving ceremony last Saturday, 26 Nov. Kyle has demonstrated himself as an enthusiastic learner since PYP and continued his hard work in the secondary which led him to academic excellence scholarship in Y6. He was a proud recipient of VSA's IB All-rounder Award 2015/16 and has continued to be a dedicated member of the school's orchestra and athletics team these years. Outside of school, Kyle challenged himself in rugby and won the Player of the Year Award. His strong passion in Science also won him the honour to be one of the 20 finalists among a pool of 2000 participants in the Mass Mutual Junior Space Camp Programme in 2015. In his thank you note, Kyle encouraged young students to challenge themselves and never give up, for he believed that it is through hard work and perseverance that we will achieve our goals.
We are also most happy that Matthew KWONG of Year 12 received Highly Commended Award (Southern District) in the same campaign. Matthew was awarded a certificate and $500 book coupons for his good work.
The Hong Kong Island Outstanding Students Award, organized by the Hong Kong Island School Heads Association (HKISHA) under the full support of the Education Bureau, aims to commend students with outstanding performances at and contributions to the school and the community. We are honoured that our students are recognized at such esteemed award for the second consecutive year.
