Welcome to Victoria Shanghai Academy! The VSA secondary school community is vibrant, compassionate and learner-focused. 

​It is my great pleasure to serve as Secondary School Principal at VSA. The VSA Secondary School community is vibrant, compassionate and learner-focused. Our excellent students thrive in learning. Our expert faculty support students tirelessly in fulfilling their unique potential. Our school motto ‘value, strive, act’ is embedded in all our educational practices. 

VSA has been the first IB World School in Hong Kong to provide IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP). As reflected in our Strategic Plan 2021-2026, we continue to be an innovative, future-oriented school.

Globalisation has led to increased interdependence among countries and contributed to the complex and rapidly-changing nature of challenges such as pandemics and climate change. Advancement of artificial intelligence, robotics, and the Internet of Things has eliminated numerous jobs, while increasing the labor demand for creative problem-solvers. Meanwhile, societies have become more diverse; increasing cross-cultural interactions which involve frequent contact with people different from ourselves. All this has led rise to the need for higher-order thinking skills, innovative capabilities, adaptability and social-emotional resilience among the young generation to effectively manage the uncertainty and volatility of our modern world. At VSA, we are committed to providing 21st century education which empowers our students to tackle various global challenges. 

Situated in Hong Kong with a focus on providing high-quality bilingual education, VSA is uniquely placed to support students in cultivating their self-identity, understanding their cultural heritage and developing lifelong competencies. With the support of community partners, our students have also benefited from rich, hands-on experiential learning opportunities to apply their knowledge in the real life context. Our students’ service engagement has furthered enhanced their sense of belonging in the local and global community, as they take action to make impact on the lives of others. 

Seeing all the warm smiles when walking around campus, I cannot help but feel a great sense of pride and hope in this community. I see our students’ holistic development across academic, emotional, social, physical and ethical dimensions. VSA faculty and staff inspire students to think beyond the world as it is now. Together, we imagine and create a better future.
