1. Associate Teacher (EAL) - Fluent English Speaking
Requirements
- Degree holder, newly Qualified Teacher or part-time PGDE student
- Interested in gaining IB/PYP experience
- A commitment to student-centred inquiry-based learning
Key Responsibilities
- Support reading and language development with individual and small groups of students
- Support teachers and students in primary classes (6-11 years old)
- Cover classes where appropriate
2. Maternity Cover Teacher (Fluent English Speaking)
- Relevant teaching experience in primary schools
- A commitment to student centred inquiry based learning
- IB/PYP experience is an advantage but not essential
- Contract Period will be from mid-December 2024 to 11 April 2025

For the School Year 2025-26, VSA is inviting applications for the following position(s):
1. Director of Chinese Studies
Key Responsibilities:
1. Curriculum Alignment:
- Oversee the alignment of the Chinese curriculum across the PYP, MYP, and DP
- Develop and implement strategies that align with IB standards and practices
- Review and revise the Chinese curriculum periodically to reflect current educational trends and meet the needs of the diverse student body
2. Teaching and Learning:
- Promote effective teaching practices in IB Chinese language acquisition and language and literature
- Collaborate with Head of Chinese (Primary) and Head of Chinese (Secondary) to support teachers in implementing student-centered, inquiry-based approaches
- Monitor and evaluate teaching practices through classroom observations, feedback, and data analysis to promote continuous improvement
3. Professional Development:
- Lead professional development for Chinese teachers to enhance their pedagogical knowledge, curriculum design, and assessment strategies
- Foster a culture of collaboration among Chinese teachers
- Incorporate the latest trends and developments in Chinese education and IB practices into professional development activities
4. Leadership and Administration:
- Develop and implement the school's strategic plan for Chinese education
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes cultural competence and celebrates Chinese language and culture
Requirements:
- A minimum of 8 years of experience teaching Chinese within the IB framework, preferably across multiple IB programmes (PYP, MYP, and DP)
- Proven experience in a leadership role as a Head of the Chinese Department or similar position
- In-depth knowledge of the IB curriculum, pedagogical approaches, and assessment practices for Chinese language acquisition and literature
- Familiarity with curriculum alignment and the ability to develop and implement strategies to ensure coherence across different grade levels and programmes
- Strong understanding of best practices in teaching and learning, with a focus on student-centered and inquiry-based approaches
- Demonstrated ability to lead professional development initiatives and support the growth and development of Chinese teachers
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, students, and parents
- Fluency in written and spoken Chinese (Mandarin) and proficiency in English

1. Executive Assistant to Head of Academy and Secondary School Principal
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily schedules of the Head of Academy and Secondary School Principal
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all internal and external stakeholders regarding matters related to the Office of the Head of Academy and Secondary School Principal
- Organize and coordinate events, such as parent-teacher meetings, staff events, and other school functions
- Manage travel arrangements for local and overseas work trips
- Be prepared to travel to provide direct support during off-site meetings, events, or conferences
- Prepare reports, presentations, meeting agendas, and minutes
- Assist in creating bilingual academic and administrative documents such as speeches, proposals, bulletins, and Head of Academy and Secondary School Principal newsletters
- Conduct research on industry trends and government policy development to support decision-making and strategic planning
- Assist with projects as well as preparation and management of budgets
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding student, staff and sensitive administrative information
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- At least 3 years of experience in an executive assistant role, preferably in an educational or similar setting
- Fluency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin, with excellent writing skills in both English and Chinese
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skill
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiar with school management software
- Proficiency in graphics design software (such as Adobe Creative Suite and Canva) and experience creating visual content
- Ability to multitask and prioritize work under pressure
- Ability to work well with others in a team environment
- High level of discretion and professionalism
