VSA is inviting applications for the following position(s):

1. Application Developer

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in the designing, developing, enhancing, and testing of the in-house
  application systems
• Assist in gathering and analyzing user requirements
• Maintain documentation for systems configuration, implementation, and operation.
• Provide maintenance of in-house systems
• Handle technical enquiries from staff, students, and parents
• Any other tasks as requested by IT Manager and/or Senior Management team but 
  not limited to the above 

• University degree in Computer Science or equivalent disciplines
• Minimum 3 years hands-on programming experience in PHP/MySQL
• Sound knowledge in HTML, javascript, CSS, AJAX, jquery, mootools
• Knowledge in python, iOS/Android/Google Apps development is an advantage.
• Experience in big data analysis and data integration between different systems
• Ability to work independently and proactively to meet project deadlines
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in both spoken and written English and Chinese
• Experience in school environment and similar school platform/system is highly desirable

2. Library Assistant

Key Responsibilities:
• Check books in and out, carry out overdue and lost book procedures, and shelve books in the correct location
• Catalog and process books and other resources
• Maintain the library environment, tidy shelves, and repair damaged books
• Perform general administrative tasks such as managing subscriptions, orders and payments
• Liaise with suppliers and bookstores
• Help students and teachers locate books and access and use resources
• Support the Teacher Librarian with the supervision of students using the Library 
• Help students in ways that support inquiry learning and reading for pleasure
• Assist with the organisation of library events and displays
• Ability to communicate clearly and interact positively with student and colleagues
• Excellent command of oral and written English and Chinese including Mandarin 
• Friendly, helpful and patient with good customer service skills
• An interest in books and reading
• Able to show initiative and work independently
• Effective online research skills and good information technology skills
• Highly organised, with the ability to perform tasks accurately and with attention to detail
• Experience working in an educational setting preferred
• Bachelor’s degree holder with a recognized Diploma in Library and Information Management or related discipline preferred
