VSA is inviting applications for the following position(s)

For the School Year 2021-22:

1. Chinese Literature and Culture Teacher 

Key Responsibilities:
• To organize activities that promote Chinese culture and reading throughout the Primary school
• To teach some library lessons with a focus on Chinese literature and culture
• To work with the Library Team to evaluate, monitor and improve the range of Chinese literature in 
   the libraries
• To assist the PYP Head of Chinese and Chinese Curriculum Team in the selection, acquisition and 
   promotion of Chinese literature in the PYP 
• To be part of the PYP Chinese Culture working group in developing and implementing the Chinese 
   culture programme
• To promote Chinese culture by being involved in the development and delivery of extra -curricular 
Preferred Qualifications, Requirements and Experience:
• Major in Chinese Language, Chinese Cultural Studies or Chinese History
• Experience in promoting Chinese literature, reading and culture
• Grade 2 Level B or above for the Test of Proficiency in Putonghua 
• Excellent communications skills
• Outstanding self-management skills
• Ability to work as an effective member of multiple teams
• Proactive and creative 

2. Class Teacher - Fluent Mandarin Speaking

• Relevant teaching experience in primary schools
• A commitment to student centred inquiry based learning
• IB/PYP experience an advantage but not essential
• Flexibility to co-teach with an English teaching partner

3. Associate Teacher – Fluent English (1-year Contract)

Key Responsibilities
• Support teachers and students in primary classes (6-11 years old)
• Work with small group of students
• Cover classes where appropriate

• Newly Qualified Teacher or part-time PGDE student
• Interested in gaining IB/PYP experience 
• A commitment to student centred inquiry based learning

Supply Teachers

  • To be included in the supply teachers’ pool and will be working on an ad hoc basis when required
  • Registered teacher with the Hong Kong Education Bureau
  • Commitment to student-centred and inquiry-based learning
  • Knowledge of relevant PYP programmes an advantage
  • Applicants must have the right to work in Hong Kong
