Posted on: Saturday 14 Nov 2020

For the first time, all 42 DP Business Management and 3 DP Economics students from Ms Meeti Dansanghani, Mr Jeremy Lai, and Mr Alric Chong formed a team to participate in the HKICPA Accounting and Business Management Case Competition 2020-21. This competition aims to develop the ability of senior secondary school students, especially those studying Business, Accounting and Financial Studies, in using accounting information for business development and to improve their enabling skills as required by today's business world. Since its inauguration in 2002, more than 300 secondary schools have participated in the Competition, making it one of the most popular and significant annual inter-school events of its kind. This is the 3rd year the I&S Department participates in this competition.

In another first, the HKICPA runs the 3-hour pre-competition workshop on 14 Nov, Saturday 2020 using Zoom Webinar. The Webinar is hosted by guest speakers, Dr. Stacy Wang, Assistant Professor, Department of Accountancy, The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong and Mr. Alton Au, Lecturer, Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Tsing Yi). They lectured on Basic Financial Ratio Analysis and Implications and Major Business and Management Concepts.

The next stage of the competition would require our 11 team members to prepare a report to analyze the Tsit Wing International Holdings Limited (Tsit Wing)’s financial and business environment as well as a business proposal to improve Tsit Wing’s Environmental Protection, Corporate Social Responsibility and Corporate Governance. VSA teams have up to 16 February 2021 to complete their report. Let us wish them all the very best of luck.
