"Play" It Forward HK@APEC Game Design Competition  is a youth program organized by the Hong Kong Committee for Pacific Economic Cooperation (HKCPEC) and co-organized by Junior Achievement Hong Kong (JA HK).

On 14 November 2020, DP Econs students from Mr Matthew Wong’s class comprising, Janice So (Y12Y2), Allis Lai (Y12Y3), Matthew Yue (Y12Y2), Damien Lu (Y12D3) and Tody Ha (Y12D2) formed a VSA school team to participate in the finals of Play” It Forward HK@APEC Game Design Competition.  The final round of the competition was held at the Lower E Hall and Laundry Steps, Tai Kwun (10 Hollywood Road, Central). The finals was a culmination of 3 months of hard work that was undertaken by the students through a series of seminars, workshop, and mentorship from a business volunteer, Mr Alex Fu (Senior Healthcare Solution and Strategy Executive , Danone Early Life Nutrition Company Limited).

With the guidance, encouragement and support from Mr Wong, our Econs team’s final product demonstrated their understanding of the current world trade situation and showcased their knowledge of the development, relations and significance of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) as well as awareness of Hong Kong’s roles and contribution to regional and international developments.

Most notably, our VSA finalists have broadened their global horizons and develop creativity, critical & strategic thinking, collaboration and learnability skills essential for the 21st century and gained experience in developing creative games for the benefits of other students and the community.
